Expect the unexpected in this new award winning highly commended AA five star concept guest house just one minutes walk from Lake Windermere and its beautiful bustling Village Of Bowness on Windermere the heart of the English Lake District. Owners Stephen and Louise have established something fresh and exciting here, maintaining a traditionally friendly and informal atmosphere while creating accommodation with all the cutting edge style of an expensive boutique hotel. The guest lounge, with its lovely open fire place, leather furniture and mellow decor is in classic style, and is a great place to relax with a glass of wine, champagne or one of the local ales. Hearty breakfasts are served in equally stylish surroundings. Bedrooms are simply stunning and uncompromisingly contemporary, each having received the attention of a professional interior designer and each with its own individual style. Rooms vary in size, Deluxe up to Suites the largest having Kingsize or Superking beds. All have luxurious goose-down duvets and fine cotton sheets, IPod docking stations, large screen TVs, DVD players with free access to a large collection and free Wi-Fi access in all rooms. The Fully tiled bathrooms feature designer stunning fittings by Villeroy & Boch, heated floors, mood lighting, dual fuel towel rails, spacious shower enclosures and bathrobes. Those with air spa baths have a mirrored TV at the foot of the bath for utter indulgence. As an added bonus guests have free use or nearby leisure facilities, including a swimming pool, sauna, gym and squash courts. The Cranleigh has 14 car parking spaces it is no smoking throughout with private parking off site (please ask) and is unsuitable for children. Fetured in AA's Britains Best B&B guide 2009. A credit card is required to secure your reservation at The Cranleigh. There will be no cancellation charge if a booking is cancelled before No cancellation charge if a booking is cancelled before 10am, TWO days before the arrival date. Where cancellation is made outside of the above terms the guest will be charged the full amount of the FIRST NIGHT'S stay.
At time of booking a £100.00 deposit will be taken to secure the reservation.. If the booking is cancelled later, or in the case of a no-show, Custom.

Directions from North From Scotland and the North East: M6 jct 40 take A66 towards Keswick. Take either A592 via Ullswater and Kirkstone Pass to Windermere or continue along A66 to Threlkeld, turn left through St. Johns in the Vale to Windermere on the A591 via Grasmere and Ambleside. At the junction of the A591 and A592 head south to Bowness Bay. On entering Bowness you will see Costa Coffee on your right, turn left onto Kendal Road. We are 200 yds on the right hand side. Directions from South From the South and East: M6 jct 36 take A591 towards Windermere. At large roundabout take first left B5284 signposted Hawkshead via Ferry and Crook. Along this road for 6 miles, past Windermere Golf Club on left to junction of A5074. At staggered crossroad turn right. We are 500 yds on the left hand side. By rail, bus or plane: The nearest railway station is Windermere, 2.5 miles from the hotel and the main West Coast line station is Oxenholme which is 10 miles from the hotel. There is a National Express coach stop at Windermere Station. Taxi pickups can be arranged from any of the stations or airports at a charge and booked via the hotel |
